Challenge for September and October!

For the months of September and October, we challenge any reader of this blog to submit your favorite or most inspiring photo of a temple. This submission can be something that you've taken in the past, or this challenge can be an incentive for you to dust off your camera and take an inspiring photo to share.

The rules are:
-The photo must have been taken by YOU or someone you know
-Include a brief sentence of why this photo is significant to you
-Submit photo to byu.85.mission@gmail.com

Upon submission, the photo will be posted here to be shared with everyone. All participants (those residing in the Provo area) will receive a special "treat" for participating.

We encourage everyone to submit your inspiring photos as we marvel the beauty and sacredness of the House of the Lord.

Teach Me To Walk In The Light

I believe that Jesus has the power to bring light, love and beauty into our lives. His temples are a reminder to always "Walk in the Light."

Salt Lake Temple

The first picture is just a beautiful shot of the temple- it actually reminds me of the Sacred Grove since it captures the beauty of the earth and the sacredness of the temple at the same time. It's peaceful, and when I look at it I want to leave the cares of the world behind and be more like Jesus. The second picture captures the beauty of the temple and the American flag at the same time. When I look at this picture I am reminded of how blessed we are to live in a country with so many freedoms, especially the freedom to be disciples of Jesus Christ. I think back on our founding fathers and the inspired men they were, and the sacrifices they made to prepare the "Promised Land" for the restoration of the Gospel.

I just want to bear my testimony of the sacredness of the temple. I truly believe that the temple is the Lord's house, and that we can grow closer to Him by attending often and striving to live our temple covenants. I am so grateful that my family is sealed the the Lord's sacred house and that we get to be a family forever. It is our goal that we too can teach our children the importance of attending the temple and dedicating ourselves to His holy work.
